Surgical procedure trainer
by means of additive manufacture.
Development of a customised prototype, using additive manufacturing technologies, for surgical planning and detailed understanding of the anatomy in a case of Ewing's sarcoma located in the distal fibula with involvement of the adjacent tibia.
Objectives:
— To develop an accurate and customised three-dimensional prototype that faithfully represents the specific anatomy of a case of Ewing's sarcoma.
— To employ additive manufacturing technologies to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the surgical procedure, reducing the operating time and minimising the associated risks.
Project selected in accordance with the Resolution of 12 May 2023 of the Directorate General for Vocational Training, by which the awards for the development of technological or scientific innovation projects and didactic innovation projects in the field of Vocational Training in public centres dependent on the Regional Ministry of Culture, Education, Vocational Training and Universities are resolved, as announced in the resolution of 23 January 2023.
